Established in 1985 in the centre of Florence (5 minutes walking from the Cathedral/Duomo), the Galilei Institute attained the highest prestige among language schools in Italy by providing its first class services to the leading companies of the world.
Highlights
The Italian one-to-one and small group courses (max. 4 students) enable the students to put the learned grammar structures directly into practice as they assure a high degree of active participation at the lesson.
In fact, the experience showed us that the key factors for quick and in-depth results are a rigorous attention of the teacher to each student, a studying program tailored to the individual linguistic needs as well as a continuous practice of the learned structures under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
Particular aspects of language can be explored or emphasized according to the student’s wishes and needs. The One-to-one courses grant full flexibility in terms of schedule and program.
One week of our One-to-One courses corresponds to approximately one month in a class with other students
With 3-4 students per class, our Small Group courses are a good alternative to One-to-One course for those who prefer to be part of a group class but still wish to work on an almost individual level.
The One-to-One courses can be started and finished any day requested. The small group courses start every other Monday.

Course “B” is of 6 hours per day.. The lessons in the morning (9am – 1pm) emphasize on grammar and language structure, while the hours in the afternoon concentrate on the practical use of the language.

The lessons of the Italian one-to-one course are combined with specific material and thematic conversations. If you wish, particular situations of your work or the field in which you need the Italian language can be studied and reproduced in class. If there is some specific material (of your work etc.), which can serve as a base for these lessons, you can bring them with you (preferable written in Italian or English).
The lessons of vocabulary are given by an expert of the field.
BUSINESS COURSES & SPECIALIZATION OF PARTICULAR VOCABULARIES. EXAM PREPARATION.
--For executives and business people a teacher of economics gives lessons of terminology on financial reports, marketing, import-export, commercial policy of Italian industries, insurance companies and banks.
--Secretaries study and compose business correspondence on such subjects as enquiries and offers of merchandise, complaints and reminders. They are also trained in the use of sentences and expressions which are recurrent in telephone conversations.
--For lawyers and social workers vocabulary lessons are given by an expert in jurisprudence. These lessons illustrate Italian civil and criminal law as well as the laws relevant to the legislation of commerce (contracts, bankruptcy, agreements) and to the family (marriage, adoption, divorce, inheritance).
--For translators and interpreters the program includes the analyses and composition of commercial, political and economic texts as well as from texts of literature and science, depending on the field you are working.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be made by email or fax. Full refund is made for cancellations more than 15 days before the start of the course. For cancellations within the 15 days preceding the beginning of the course, 30% of the course fee will be kept. Once the course has started no reimbursement will be made.

Visa information
If you are a EU or USA citizen, you do not need to obtain a visa to stay in Italy for less than 3 months.
For foreign students (Non-EU) who wish to study in Italy Istituto Galilei will provide all the necessary documents and assistance in order to allow you to request your Student Visa from the Italian Embassy in your country of origin.<...

If you require an enrolment certificate to apply for a Student Visa in Italy, the total course fee shall be paid in advance (see rules and regulations).
In case the Visa will not be granted, you shall send us a written letter from the Embassy stating the refusal . At this point, the school will reimburse you the course fee less any bank charges. After receiving the visa, it will not be possible to change the course dates or cancel the course. No refunds will be given for suspended or interrupted courses.
We recommend you therefore to inform yourself well in advance at the Italian Embassy/Consulate in your country for the requirements and waiting times.
