L'Italiano Porticando, situated in Turin's historic city centre, in the Quadrilatero Romano, next to the elegant Piazza Solferino and only a stonethrow from Piazza Castello is a friendly school teaching successfully since 2005 Italian language and culture for foreigners. What does L'Italiano Porticando mean ? The name of this Italian language school corresponds to its philosophy: Learn Italian while walking under Turin's arcades ! Therefore, the Italian lessons are held by highly experienced and qualified mother-tongue teachers using the communicative method. The teachers' aim is to motivate the students to participate actively in their lessons and extra-curricular activities. Activities like cooking workshops, wine tastings, sight-seeing tours and visits to museums are organized together with people born and grown up in Turin and with real professionals of the region.   • Name: General Italian Group Course - Standard - 20 lessons/week
  • Description: Standard courses are Italian language courses with 5 to 8 people (due to the COVID-19 restrictions each groups has maximum 6 students). They are suitable for people who want to learn Italian in a group, meeting other people and having fun while learning the language. Though lessons are held for a group, our teachers will adapt the contents and the speed of the course to the needs of the members of the group. This kind of courses are organized for all levels of knowledge of the European Framework for Languages (from beginners to advanced). Standard courses can also be combined with Cultural courses which will complete the language course with knowledge on Italian culture and way of life. All standard courses start normally on the first Monday of the month. This is binding for absolute beginners or if you want to start a level right from the beginning. People who already have some knowledge of the Italian language can start any other Monday (after an entry test). Prices include - language course - registration fee of 60 Euro (will be added to the invoice) - course book and other teaching materials - entry test and certificate of attendance - Internet access (Wi-Fi and students' pc) - afternoon activities - other services provided by the school

  • Name: 50+ Italian Group Course - 12 lessons + activities
  • Description: L'Italiano Porticando reserves every year several weeks to the so called “Golden Age”, i.e. people over 50 who want to attend an Italian Language Course together with people of the same age. This year's 50+ classes will have 4 days with 3 hours per day of Italian language classes and 1 day (Wednesday) with a 4-6 hours outing to discover either a Royal Residence outside Turin or a visit to a wineyard with tasting of typical products and wines or an excursion to the beautiful regional park of La Mandria. On Tuesday and Thursday afternoon the students will have the possibility to take part in the afternoon activities to get to know Turin and to speak Italian also outside the classroom. The Wednesday excursion depends on the weather and the number of students.
